My PLE and PLN for CLIL

It wasn`t until I started my Bilingual Teaching Master at URJC in Madrid when I started to learn about CLIL. Brick by brick, I have been gaining knowledge about this methodological approach since then. We are going to prepare the TKT’s exam of Cambridge which is based on CLIL so we are going to study more about it this semester. Furthermore, social networks and websites give us the chance to keep it up and learn more about CLIL. Finally, where I most interact with CLIL is at my lessons at university when me and my peers do presentations about our CLIL lesson plans and activities using this approach.

Pinterest: I believe I am not the only one using this app to look for ideas to create displays or model makings. You can find many creative and original ideas for your own creations.

Moodle: Teachers provide us with material for our master lessons about CLIL but also I use it to share my projects, ideas and information with my peers and teachers.

British Council and BBC: I find these websites very useful to learning English language but also culture. I strongly recommend to use its resources.

Google: to search for information about CLIL on the Internet. I normally do a general search with google to find more specific websites.

YouTube: There are videos and songs that I use to plan my CLIL lesson plans.

Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin: At these social networks I find many articles, information and tips regarding to CLIL approach. Not only do I use these to look for information but also to share my knowledge and communicate. Therefore, I include some of these networks in both PLN and PLE.

WhatsApp and Skype: To communicate with other peers and people who share information and ideas about CLIL.

Google Drive: I found this app very useful as I can keep a lot of information and resources and have access to these wherever I am. At the same time, I use it to share files with peers and friends. I use it to organise information as well. Definitely it is one of the most important apps in my everyday learning life.

Outlook and Gmail: I use both of to share information and communicate with other people by email. I do also receive emails from websites that I joined before and ask them to send me information about something I have interest in for example about tips for CLIL lessons.

Coggle and Bitstrips for school: I have recently learned how to use these tools for creating graphics and comics, which I will continue using for my CLIL lessons plans.

Microsoft Office: To create PPT, word documents, pdf or other files for my lessons.

Comics As A Learning Tool

It was my first time using Bitstrips for School and I have to say I love it! You can bring comics to the classroom with educational software that helps students create, share and collaborate on comics. Bitstrips for Schools is very useful to teach reading comprehension, writing and digital literacy as well. This tool will make the process of writing more visual, personal and fun for our students!

Bitstrips for School features an avatar maker that lets students design cartoon avatars, and a comic builder that lets them creater their own story comics. It is an original way to bring realia to our lessons.  Furthermore, there are hundreds of backgrounds, props and effect to work with, and students can also upload their own photos with the image-uploading tool.  

I strongly recommend you to try it! Definetely you will enjoy it!

17195_10204030721279405_279789500989859481_nI am a Spanish native speaker with a degree in Nursery Teaching who is passionate about children and education.  After my experience as an au-pair and as a waitress in York and Dundee, I decided to study a Bilingual Teaching Master degree at URJC in Madrid. I look forward to working with children again in the future in a position where I can make the most of my skills, gain more experience and keep improving my English.

I am a theatre lover as well. When I was at high school I was a member of Hypnos, a classic theatre group in Córdoba. We performed plays by classic authors such as Sophocles, Aeschylus or Plautus all over Spain and have taken part in the Classic Theatre Festival at Palazzolo Acreide (Italy) on several occasions.

I also enjoy travelling and discovering new places and cultures, reading, going to the cinema and spending time with my family and friends.
